Binderless board made from composted rice straw as substrate for rice seedlings

نویسندگان

چکیده

A binderless board was produced from mechanically dissociated compost straw via suction filtration. The applied to replace the topsoil that is currently used predominantly as substrate for rice seedlings in China. showed highest tensile strength when had been composted 20 days. bulk density, aeration, and total porosity of an increasing trend with composting time, due increased decomposition straw. examination growth parameters root morphology electrical conductivity (EC), pH, nutrient content made 10 days were conducive seedlings. Polyphenols inhibited seedling height shoot weight promoted stem diameter weight. Considering quality loss, index, board, optimal condition. These results indicate can top soil peat seedling.

Impact of 15N-labeled rice straw and rice straw compost application on N mineralization and N uptake by rice

Incorporation of plant residues in soil affects N and C content and dynamics. This studydetermined the effects of short-term alternative rice (Oryza sativa L.) residue management on Nmineralization and uptake by rice. Pot and laboratory incubation experiments were established byincorporating 15N-labeled rice straw and rice straw compost in paddy soil. The 15N recovered by riceaveraged 16.6%; mo...

Bioethanol production from rice straw residues

A rice straw - cellulose utilizing mold was isolated from rotted rice straw residues. The efficient rice straw degrading microorganism was identified as Trichoderma reesei. The results showed that different carbon sources in liquid culture such as rice straw, carboxymethyl cellulose, filter paper, sugar cane bagasse, cotton stalk and banana stalk induced T. reesei cellulase production whereas g...

Germinating Rice Seedlings

Nitrate reduotase is induced by nitrate in excised embryos and germinating intact seedlings of rice (Oryza sativa L.). The enzyme is induced 24 hr after imbibition. The rate of enzyme formation increases with the age of seedlings. There is a lag period of 30 to 40 min between the addition of substrate and the formation of nitra-te reductase. Formation of the enzyme is promoted by the presence o...

Feeding Rice Straw to Cattle

Feed is the largest single cost of producing beef. Producers who have access to alternative feeds often have economic advantages due to the lower costs of production. However, alternative feeds can present challenges due to variable consistency, variable supply, potential toxicants, and unusual composition. Rice straw, a by-product of the rice grain industry in Northern California, is a potenti...

Molecular breeding of Clostridia for butanol production from rice straw

Biobutanol produced by Clostridium spp. can be used as a biofuel and/or chemical feedstock. For cost-effective and sustainable production of biobutanol, an untapped biomass such as rice straw could be used as a substrate. Rice straw, which is composed of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, is cheap and abundant. However, the utilization of rice straw is limited because butanol-producing clost...
